LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — A Nebraska church has raised more than $520,000 to pay off the medical bills of residents in its neighborhood, ending the 14-month-campaign on Easter Sunday. An estimated 10,000 people contributed to the First-Plymouth Congregational Church effort, The Lincoln Journal Star reports. “In my mind, it was a straight-on spiritual thing, you know, Jesus says, ‘love your neighbor,’” the Rev. Jim Keck said. “What erupted was just generosity.”The effort came about after the Rev. Juan Carlos Huertas took on outreach efforts at the Lincoln church, starting something called justNeighbors. The ministry centered around community connection, helping neighbors with laundry, filling their gas tanks and providing health care to those without insurance. He and Keck then set their sights on medical bills. TWIN FALL, Hawaii (KHON) -- Twin Falls is one of the most popular stops along Maui's iconic Hana Highway. It's gotten so popular, the area became a safety concern as hundreds of cars park along the highway, and people often dodge across the road to visit the falls. However, many local residents avoid Twin Falls due to the overwhelming number of visitors."I can count on my two hands how many local cars I get a day here," said Aina Harold, who has worked at Twin Falls for 15 years. "There's a big gap between how many local people want to come here and how many visitors are coming here."In recent years, the privately-owned farm decided to cap the number of cars in its parking lot at any given time to 75, but keeps resident parking available all day. Tourists sometimes get angry if they can't get in at a certain time, Harold said. "I understand their frustration. They’ve spent thousands of dollars. It's their dream vacation. There’s those expectations to be able to access every place yo...Twins quieted in finale of Astros series

Twice, Tyler Mahle was just an out away from escaping an inning with no damage. Twice, Chas McCormick got to him instead. And so it went for the Twins on Sunday, who were held quiet by Astros top prospect Hunter Brown and gave up all of the Astros’ runs with two outs in a 5-1 loss in the series finale at Target Field.Mahle, who threw six innings in his second start of the season, allowed a two-run home run to McCormick in the second inning that just got out to right field, giving the Astros (4-6) a lead they would not relinquish.McCormick got to him again a couple innings later, shooting a single up the middle past a diving Kyle Farmer and into center field to bring home another pair of runs. That was plenty of offense on a day where Twins (6-3) hitters managed just two hits. Both, a Byron Buxton single and a Donovan Solano double, came in the fourth inning, producing the Twins’ one and only run of the game.Related ArticlesMinnesota Twins | Twins’ Max Kepl...Toddler hit by truck, killed in Missouri Bootheel
