Two young male lions born at the Denver Zoo, now kicked out of their group, will be transferred to separate other zoos as part of a species survival plan, officials announced this week. It’s unclear where these two lions – two-year-old Oskar and three-year-old Tatu – will be sent. The two “have been enjoying each other’s company,” zoo officials said in their posting, “and now it’s time for them to start their own families.”Under species survival plans, ...

Letters: Banning abortion pills — Wyoming endangers essential medical care

Wyoming endangers essential medical careRe: “Governor signs measure banning abortion pills,” March 19 news storyWyoming’s Gov. Mark Gordon has signed the law banning the use of mifepristone and similar drugs for abortions in his state. Any law that creates hesitancy for doctors to uphold the standard of care for a patient represents a degradation of that care. One consequence of the law is that women may delay or avoid s...
